After months of struggling with my mental health, our learning spaces were a mess.
This long weekend my friends and I decided to tackle it as a team (child-free)! How blessed am I to have the support and love?!
We put on some music and worked our magic together getting things just so. (Note: for those in the US, I’ve included links to Amazon where applicable for your convenience.)
So now, I introduce our beautiful new homeschool spaces!
Our main shelving in a better light
Abacus (Ikea) and binomial cube [US]
Maths manipulatives! Cuisenaire rods [US], peg boards [US], sandpaper numbers(Etsy), and stop watches [US]
Love the acrylic mirrors [US] behind the materials
This shelf has our click counters [US], gorgeous magnetic number tracing toy [US] and scales [US]
Some lovely loose parts: gems (Bunnings) and a basket or wood circles and mini pine cones
Our literacy and science shelves!
Features our DIY story stones, sandpaper letters (I DIY double sided) and magnetic lowercase letter tracing tablet [US]
Natural treasures – gems and shells in a window box
Cameron’s current interest (human body) – our anatomy model [US] and magnetic dress up anatomy puzzle [US]
Our light table has taken up residence in a dark corner of the room
To the left we have our transparent geoboard, colour paddles [US], liquid timers [US], drawers full of colour cubes, transparent chips, linking shapes, dice, human x-rays [US], and black sand
We love our new letter construction set [US] in this huge activity tray and geometric solids [US]
Our writing centre has to be my favourite part of our new space and it was the first place Cameron went to!
Our new ‘Dear Little Letterbox‘ is already inspiring so much writing
You can read about our art cart in progress here!
Cameron’s bed has been moved into our room and now his room is free for imaginative play and construction!
We have an assortment of blocks, DIY branch blocks, Grimm’s blocks [US], coloured blocks, rainbow blocks [US], Lego and Duplo
The frogs (crickets for food underneath) are now here, alongside our wooden rainbow [US], barn, toy animals and wooden play food
I hope you loved our tour!

It all looks so inviting! Well done. Thank you for sharing. I don’t have quite so much room (in the UK) but lots of inspiration!
My boy (2.8) is just starting to show an interest in ‘writing’ so I love the idea of his own letterbox. He does love posting and receiving letters!
We all share a bedroom and have a joint office/dining room to have this space :) It’s worth it for a homeschooling family!
The letterbox is a brilliant investment! Cameron hasn’t stopped ‘writing’ letters and posting them to friends and family!
You have made good use of the space you have then! And certainly a must to prioritise the homeschool space now. I think that’s lovely you all share a room (but a sacrifice too I guess!), that’s something I may do actually as my boy always ends up in there anyway… It’s made me think about the different ways I could use the room I do have, thank you.
At the moment my son has a small set of shelves and little table in the dining room and a few bits in the living room and in nooks around the house but I store and rotate resources often.
I’m sure the letterbox will get many years of use, I’d have fun with it now :-)
Oh. My. Goodness!!! I just L.O.V.E.your set up. Thank you so much for sharing
This is such a lovely comment! Thank you Jo!
It looks amazing – well done girls!
Thank you Sarah! We had fun and it is such a beautiful functional space now!
It is so stunning, I love it. And I feel 100% the same about the love and support :)
I love it all and am so grateful for you both!
It looks AMAZING!!
I agree – we did well!
