I’ve written about learning and playing with light before. We have been to a light play exhibit at our local art gallery in the past and loved it. This time there was even more to explore! I thought I’d share some photo highlights for inspiration!

Sometimes simple is best. My kids were really engaged in the simple torch play. There were sculptures to play around with and make shadows as well as crystals and CDs to reflect light and make rainbows.

It was fun to find the right angles and move to make the rainbows change direction and splatter across the walls.

The foam 3D shapes were also part of the echo tables which are a revolutionary art idea which includes light and video and movement.

My kids loved getting on the echo tables and changing the colours and shapes. It was a really unique experience!

Another fun interactive full body experience included using coloured reflective materials and card to reflect strong light from the roof to make coloured patterns on the walls! How pretty does it look!?

We’re used to using our light table at home but Cam enjoyed standing up and building and exploring on the light cubes at the gallery!

The overhead projectors are something all the kids are naturally drawn too. They’re so interactive and large! My two loved projecting the colours and shadows onto themselves!

OHP rainbow

As a group with our homeschool co-op, we also made a big rainbow art piece with several OHPs! It was spectacular!
